Teamwork! Teacher - Parent - Student - we will all work together to have each student reach mastery of skills and gain a love for learning.
Participation in live classes is a key component in student success along with completion of independent practice activities within Blackboard. Each step of the learning process, big or small, will help our students reach ultimate success!
This is my 11th year teaching and 4th year at OHDELA. I attended Wheeling Jesuit University, where I earned my B.A. in Elementary Education and played soccer - Go Lady Cards! I then attended Edinboro University and earned my M.Ed. in Reading. I am now certified in PreK - 5th grade in all subjects and K-12 in Reading. I've taught in the public school setting in West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Ohio in grades K-8. Along with my husband and 2 year old son, I spend a lot of my time visiting with my large extended family and friends. I'm from Pittsburgh and therefore root for the Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins. The Cutting Edge is my all time favorite movie, and The Giver is one of my favorite books.
I attended Edinboro University online and really enjoyed the learning environment and format. It allowed for independent studies as well as collaboration with other learners, all from the comfort of my home! As I learned more about online schools for K-12 students, I was intrigued about teaching in the online environment! I love that we are providing 21st century technology skills to our students with every class and activity that they do. What an advantage for them in today's world!
